West of Mabou

One of CBC Saskatchewan's 2017 Artists to Watch, West of Mabou performs lively dance music steeped in the rich traditions of Scottish and Cape Breton fiddle and pipe tunes.

Based in Saskatchewan, Canada, the band unites the talents of Scott Benson (fiddle), Roberta Wallace (fiddle), Alex Rasmussen (pipes/whistles), Justin Easton (guitar), and Jared Dormer (drums).

Each of the members is an experienced performer in their own right, having performed at festivals, competitions, pubs, and ceilidhs around the world. Since the release of their debut album in 2017, West of Mabou has performed at numerous festivals in Canada and the U.S., including the Celtic Classic in Bethlehem, PA. They recently released their second album, "The Bridge," with producer Wendy MacIsaac.

Chester McBain - The Entertainer

Chester has traveled from coast to coast in Canada and the United States performing for various events and functions. He has appeared numerous times on local and national television and radio. He has even added to his credit, two cameo appearances in two movies, “A Stranger in Town” starring Rebecca Jenkins and Harry Hamlin (released in 2001), and “Skipped Parts” staring Jennifer Jason Liegh, Drew Barrymore and Mischa Barton (released in 2002).
His credits also include that of being the first person in Saskatchewan to attempt and successfully accomplish the “Under Water Packing Box Escape” originally made famous by the legendary Houdini.The most recent excitement about Chester is that he is the magician that entertained the world with the video that went double viral – over 50 million views and winner of Americas Funniest Videos. Chester proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that his magic is jaw-dropping and eye popping. His lifelong experience performing the art of magic will truly amaze and have you believing in the unbelievable.
Chester is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM), Canadian Association of Magicians (CAM), The International Magicians Society (IMS) and The Invisible Lodge.

Pat Roth - Balloon Guy Extraordinaire

@ Carlyle Public Library 1-4 PM

Pat Roth has been clowning around Central Canada and the United States for over 20 years, performing at birthday parties, cultural events and family gatherings. He specializes in professional balloon sculpting, face painting and family entertainment.

Pat has a B.A. in Arts Education, is a graduate of Goldstone and Johnson’s International School of Mime and holds a Bachelor Degree in Religious Studies. He also studied under the famous French mime, Marcel Marceau.
